It’s no secret that everyone here at Cilantro The Cooks Shop are true foodies in every sense of the word. That’s why we’ve been hungrily devouring all of the year-end food trend predictions and cooking advice. Based on our personal culinary experience and what our industry cohorts are projecting, all we can say is that 2014 is expected to be one flavorful New Year.

Two cuisines anticipated to reign supreme in the New Year are Indian and Spanish. So you’ll definitely want to stock up on our seasonings. They could easily be used to whip up any number of additions to a Spanish or Indian themed menu. Take our Hot/Picante Smoked Spanish Paprika and Zydeco Dust Cajun Blackening Spice as prime examples. They could be used to make the classic Indian dish, blackened paneer skewers. We’d also recommend using them to create Spanish-style tilapia, paella, rice and bean dishes.

We’ve also got a variety of classic Indian staples. Among them are Indian Garam Masala, Mild Indian Kashmiri Chile, Hot & Tangy Madras Curry and Hot Indian Reshampatti Chile. They could be used to flavor meats and make sauces.

Lastly, don’t forget about our assorted Mexican spices. Within our large spice collection we’ve got a Chimichurri Blend, Ground Chipotle Chile, Ground Ancho Chile and Ground Twisted Tongues. The Ground Twisted Tongues is a superior blend of two chilies and white pepper. You could use all of them to make any number of contemporary and classic dishes. Flavorful dishes that come to our minds are pressed Cuban-style burgers, bistec encebollado, black bean soup, Tex Mex chili and spicy salsas.

Of course you don’t have to stick to just those two cuisines. There’s a wide, wonderful world of flavorful dishes to explore. Just ask us and we’d be more than happy to share our favorite recipes and a bit of cooking advice.
